Mixed Media Monday - House

This week on Mixed Media Monday, we have a special guest host, Fatma, who has created an amazing house. But Fatma also gave me the impetous I needed to do this project that I'd been thinking about for ages. I got the metal and perspex case with some stamping supplies, and just had to do something with it. The houses are made from chipboard, vintage books and music, collage images and other embellishments. You can see the individual houses in the post below this one. A special thankyou to Nikki and Danni for all of their hard work trying to get just one decent photo of the case. A near impossible task, with all the reflections on the perspex.

Wednesday Stamper - Button Dollz

It has been ages since I've had time to participate in any other challenge sites, but when I saw the theme on Wednesday Stamper
this week, I just couldn't resist the temptation to make a little ATC using the great button dollz theme. I used a collage image behind a plastic "bubble", mounted onto a flower for the head, Victorian scrap butterfly for the wings, and of course, lots of buttons! What fun!

Mixed Media Monday - Childhood

This week on Mixed Media Monday the theme is "childhood". I recently completed an ATC swap with the theme "vintage whites", and I loved the colour scheme so much I decided to play it some more. I based this weeks piece around it, although there is a little more sepia in this piece. The background is paper towel, and stamped and distressed paper. I've added daisy lace trim, lots of buttons and a stamped word on a distressed piece of paper. The stamps used are both from Invoke. The image I used always makes me smile.

Mixed Media Monday - Whimsy

I chose "whimsy, whimsey" for the theme over at Mixed Media Monday this week, because I love all the whimsical things people are doing. This piece was done on corrugated cardboard (thanks Amazon, grin) and I love the way it painted up. The ridges in the card seemed to catch the paint a little more and made a very interesting background. The other fun thing about this piece is the B that I stamped. I used a foam letter B taken from a child's alphabet puzzle piece, that I picked for $2 from a $2-type shop. So keep your eyes out for that type of thing, these stamp just as well as foam stamps, at a fraction of the cost!

Mixed Media Monday - Time

With a new year, we are often reflecting back, or looking forward, so I thought "time" would be a good theme for this week's theme on Mixed Media Monday. I made this piece using a giant chipboard tag which I covered with fabric and distressed. I actually used two layers of acetate - one with the woman printed on it and another overlaid on top with the clock stamped on it. Other elements include paper lace which I distressed and and a key.
