It was so lovely to pick up a paint brush and do some art after a few weeks of not doing anything! When I was pondering the challenge of "stars" for Mixed Media Monday, I began thinking of the golden oldies in movies, and the real "stars". My daughter and I love movies from the 30's and 40's, and one of our favourite actresses is Bette Davis, so it was an easy choice for me. The quote I used is from one of our favourite Bette movies - Now Voyager - "why ask for the moon when we have the stars".
The painting is on a canvas approx. 30 x 40 cm or 12 x 16 inches and I used computer generated images, acrylic paint, modelling paste, cheese cloth, charcoal and oil pastels.

Your painting looks great, Diane!
I love the colours you have used they work really well together, great take on this weeks theme!!
oh wonderful work Diane!!!
You picked one of my favorite actresses! I am a movie nut and love the older black and whites!
You did a lovely art piece and capture the romance of the movie era!
Thanks for the challenge!
Really wonderful work here- actors from the past really were "Stars" - so much more than today's set!
Ah, the lovely Bette Davis! My favourite quote is "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night" which sort of goes with the one about the stars. I am an addict when it comes to old movies (thank goodness for Turner Classics on Foxtel!).
Great inspiration, Diane. I am glad to hear that you are back on your feet and enjoying your artwork again.
