ATC Accordian Book
I have been doing the workshop for the Bernie Bernie ATC Workshop book on Artists of the Round Table. This week the lesson was to make an accordian book for storing ATC's in. I didn't want to make a book for this purpose, because I like to store my ATC's in albums. So I decided to make an accordian book and add ATC's, with each ATC telling part of a story - like an illustrated story book, but with ATC's. I decided to bind my accordian book down the spine, so it would open and read more like a real book. The added benefit of that was that I got to play with my new Bind It All, grin! This was lots of fun, although quite time consuming, but I'm glad I did it.
4x4 Friday - Black and White
This week the challenge on 4x4 Friday is black and white. I think black and white always looks so striking. I always enjoy working with just those two colours.
Wednesday Stamper - Moo Cards
This week's challenge on Wednesday Stamper is Moo Cards - what an interesting size to work on. Not sure that I'll become as addicted to them as I am to ATC's, but they are a fun format to play with.

TMTA - Smile
When I saw the theme for Think Monday, Think ATC, I immediately thought of this stamp. I just love the silly grin on the cat's face! It's such a fun stamp to work with.

4x4 Friday - France
The theme on 4x4 Friday this week is France. My piece is done on mattboard, which I sponged and over stamped with some flourish stamps. The Eiffel tower stamp is from Cherry Pie and the woman is from Invoke Arts. The wording is computer generated, and I've used some black German scrap and an Eiffel tower sequin to complete the piece.

Wednesday Stamper - Fish
This is my submission for the "Fish" theme on Wednesday Stamper this week. Fish feature so much in the Oriental cultures that this ATC just had to have an Oriental theme. It has lots of lovely shimmery gold on it, both in the gorgeous yuzen papers, the gold embossing and the metal fish, but unfortunately that doesn't scan as well as I'd like it to. Thanks for looking!

Another ATC
On another list I belong to, Arty_Oz, we have a "Picture This" swap. This is where the hostess sends all the participants an image, and we have to make a set of ATC's using that image. The rules are that you are not allowed to alter the image digitally at all - but you may hand colour it, etc. This is what I came up with this time - with the use of vintage music, German Scrap, mattboard and lots of Distress Inks! I really enjoy these challenges, and I find it displays so well in my album. Nothing looks nicer than a complete page of 9 ATC's, all different, all done by different artists, using different techniques, but all with the same original image.

4 x 4 Friday
I decided to take up the challenge on 4 x 4 Friday, and make my first canvas. This was lots of fun to do. This is how I went about it. The background was made with a serviette from a coffee shop (thanks Gloria Jeans) which was stamped with an Autumn Leaves flourish. This was then adhered to the canvas with gel medium. Some pieces of vintage book pages and the girl image were then adhered over this. I finished it off with some German Scrap trims and a chipboard star. I really enjoyed this challenge and will definitely be joining in more of these challenges!

Killing Two Birds With One Stone
I'm currently doing the Bernie Bernie ATC Workshop on A.R.T., and this week we had to make an "ultra" card. I decided to do a triptich, because I absolutely love connected ATC's. I was also fortunate that the theme for Wednesday Stamper this week was "ATC Triptich", so I was able to kill two birds with one stone, :-) The main images on these ATC's are from Zettiology and the background is from a set of Autumn Leaves clear stamps. The background was sponged and stamped using Adirondack ink pads, which are my absolute favourite ink pads. Hope you enjoy my very first piece uploaded to my blog.
Welcome
Welcome to my first entry on my first blog! The aim of my blog is to share my passion for mixed media art with like minded people. I hope you enjoy some of my postings. This blog is very much a work in progress and hopefully it will become an interesting place to visit. Thanks for dropping in.
