Mixed Media Monday - Pens and Pencils

Mondays seem to come around so quickly these days. I don't seem to get anything else posted on my blog, apart from my MMM things. This week on Mixed Media Monday, we have Willy as a guest host, and she has chosen "pens and pencils" as the theme. This week I chose to do an ATC, because I'm a little pushed for creative time. The background of the ATC is done with rusted paper, the "letter" is stamped on paper and then distressed. I used a collage image and a used postage stamp, some ribbon and a pen nib tied on with string. This is a beeswax collage - I love the mellow look that the wax gives to a collage.

Mixed Media Monday = Maps

Pauline is our special guest host on Mixed Media Monday this week - and she has chosen "maps" as the theme. I was lucky to find this map in a vintage book and it was perfect for the background. Thanks for the fun challenge, Pauline!

Mixed Media Monday - Transparencies

This week on Mixed Media Monday, we have the fabulous Femmy as guest host. Femmy chose the theme "transparencies", and I found this lots of fun to work with. This piece is done on a piece of matt board, 6 inches by 4 inches. The different "ingredients" used include collage papers, page from an old book, gold German scrap painted and inked, lots of distress inks, and a transparency, that I burned the edges of, and painted with matt gel medium to take the shine off. Thanks for a fun challenge, Femmy!

Mixed Media Monday - Paint

The talented Natalie is our guest host on Mixed Media Monday again this week, and this time she has chosen "paint" as her theme. Great opportunity to pull out the paints and a canvas board (this one is quite large for me - about 20 x 25 cm, or almost 8 x 10 inches). I used tissue paper and modelling compound for the texture. There is quite a bit of gold paint used to highlight the texture, but unfortunately, it doesn't show too well in the scan. I don't know why, but German Scrap seems to find it's way into everything I do lately, LOL! Oh, and that's a little chipboard flourish in the upper right hand corner.
