Mixed Media Monday - I am Woman

This week I've chosen the theme "I am woman" as the callenge on Mixed Media Monday. Another chance to play with fabric, grin! This is done on a stretched canvas measuring approx. 8x10 inches or 20x25 cms, which was painted with acrylic paint. The next green layer is stitch and tear which was painted with acrylic paint and then over stamped with acrylic paint. The next layer is calico which was dry brushed and over stamped with a foam stamp. The image of the lady is an image transfer onto the calico fabric and frame around her was done with lutradur which was painted with acrylic ink and overstamped with a text stamp. The little button was made with painted "crash" material (I love this stuff) with a flower bead added. The other thing I used for the first time and love is mulberry bark which I painted and tortured - it's green piece behind the lady. Some painted lace and butterfly lace motifs finished it off. I had such fun experimenting.

This is so wonderful, Diane! I love the lavender with the green. I've never used Lutradur. But I may just have to -- it is a wonderful addition.

Diane, this is so feminine and exquisitely. I love the textures and the way you pulled all the elements together. (A complete contrast to my in-yer-face I am woman take!!).
Beautiful work.
