Mixed Media Monday - It's Not All Black and White

I always love the striking effects of simply black and white - and I also love it with a touch of colour. So that's what I chose as the challenge for Mixed Media Monday this week. My piece is done on a 12.7 x 17.8 cm or 5x7 in canvas board which was covered with vintage papers and sheet music which was then dry brushed with gesso to give it an even more aged appearance. The little cardboard frame was coated with modelling paste and texturised, then painted with off white and white paints. It was all finished off with a computer generated image (don't you love that bow?) some rubons, card stock and a group of ribbon roses. Once again, it's not photographed terribly straight - I need to try to get better at that!

It's a stunning bow! I love this little canvas and you are very clever to pick such a theme. I had a lot of fun thinking what I'd create whilst recycling that old skirt!! =)

Hi Diane, Thanks for hosting this theme, I had fun with it. I love the texture in your piece, it is reminding me to go play with some modeling paste - I haven't done that in a while and it's so much fun! Cheers, Sharon
